This will take EVERY background program out of your startup....you may want to read them and keep on things such as nortons for anti-virus protect but other then that, most of the crap I am having you turn off is not at all important ever.

Start>Run (or Windows key+r)
Type "msconfig"
Click the "startup" tab
Click "Disable All"
Click "Apply"
Click "Ok"

Reboot your computer and see if it helps any.
